About ARA

Alaska Radiology Associates (ARA) was officially incorporated in February of 1970 by Bruce Wright, M.D. and Burl Stephens, M.D.  Dr. Maurice Coyle joined shortly after in July of 1970.  Dr. John Kottra joined ARA in July of 1971 when an outpatient radiology center was established in the basement of Providence Professional Building (PPB)- now building B.  Alaska Radiology Associates (ARA) continues to provide superior radiology services and patient care to the Anchorage, Alaska community and surrounding communities.

ARA's practice expanded as the demand for radiological services grew and technology involved advanced.  Now, more than 30 years later, the group is comprised of 9 board-certified physicians who cover every facet of radiology.  ARA radiologists offer patient and refering physicians access to imaging sub-specialists with expericence and expertise in such areas as mammography with digital imaging, ultrasound, CT with 3-Dimensional Imaging, MRI, MRA, CTA, PET, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology.

Alaska Radiology Associates currently serves Providence Alaska Medical Center and Health Services, with a patient population that extends well beyond the Anchorage area.
