Dr. Moeller was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended Purdue University in Indiana. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage, AK.

His interests are in traveling, fly-fishing, reading history, bird hunting, and Jasmine, his black lab. Dr. Moeller has also been a private pilot since 1985.
